Put the kids' dresser together and did some organizing. Still need to finish the drawers, and two desks that should arrive tomorrow, but then they'll be in great shape to move all the small stuff after I leave. This is starting to look like a real grownups' apartment. 🎉

These trips never seem to end without a bit of blood. Stabbed my thumb with a screwdriver while assembling furniture.

The living room in kids's new apartment has no floor space because of all the Ikea boxes. Very proud of Getting It Done yesterday, even though it meant dinner at midnight and sleeping on a sofa. Today is Assembly Day and possibly Move The People Day.

Got multiple deliveries/installs happening at kids' new apartment, so I'm "providing value" by being a human-shaped object while they can't be everywhere at once.

You - yes, you - have been doing Eggs Benedict wrong. The correct order is Canadian bacon on the bottom, then muffin, then egg so all that yummy yolk absorbs into the muffin. Also, changing sides is kind of thematic.

Yep. My bag is on a different flight - later than my original one, earlier than the one I had to rebook. And I know the Madison airport well enough to know that getting it out of the storage room after 9pm might be impossible. Quite likely I'll have to do without until tomorrow.

More travel craziness. Flight was delayed twice more, totally blowing my connection. Onboard wifi was broken, but reset fixed it, so was just able to rebook. Also turns out no mattress until tomorrow, so hotel for one night. Oy vey.

The chaos continues. Someone grabbed the wrong bag off one flight. Another just had to call passengers back (from where?!?) to restart boarding. What a mess.

The burning-electronics smell at this gate is overwhelming right now. It's going to be one of those days, isn't it?

Ah yes, another Monday morning full of market manipulation from the folks in DC. This time it looks like Cornyn has joined the party.

We seem to have a captain for this flight - I'm looking right at him in the gate area - but the plane and the rest of the crew are still on their way here (BOS) from ORD. (Yeah, probably dead-heading, but still kind of funny.)

Apparently I'm on some sort of ghost flight. Original email from United didn't even show my first flight (fortunately Expedia did). Also wasn't showing up on the (too few!) departure boards in the terminal. I'm at the (changed) gate right now, physical pass in hand, so it's OK, but ... 🙄.

"Desearch" should be a word. Whereas research is about trying to find or understand the truth, desearch is about finding more bullshit to undermine or crowd out truth. It's all around us, but mostly unnamed.

"Vaunted" is such a weird word. Nobody ever vaunts, not since the 1700s anyway, so how is anything ever vaunted?

I love Madison, and I have nothing better to do with my time than to help my offspring, but despite both of those facts I find all this travel stuff rather tedious.
