Clarification: I don't doubt Apple/Google ecosystem AI. My doubt is the buisness model of OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, xAI, ... What is the added value of subscriptions or token packages when you can run models locally without sharing your code and/or data?

I think it is clear now that open weight models are eroding paid subscriptions. That trend is speeding up with efficiency breakthroughs from China cutting down on compute and ram needs, plus open source agents handling stuff like coding and web searches locally.

Trump added roughly $8 trillion in his first term and has already tacked on trillions more, pushing total national debt near $40 trillion. His chaotic pandemic response and tax cuts forced heavy corrective measures by the Biden administration. And what does Trump do? More tax cuts for the rich 🤦‍♂️

The real reason is not the US trying to help out Japan, but self-interest to avoid Japan being forced to sell off its US bonds because of the Yen crashing towards a 40 year low. It would have weakened the US-Dollar causing a domino effect among lenders.
