I think that not only is this good politics, but the stability of American society depends on it. Liberal American normies are out for blood, but *everyone* is in an anti-system mood. If we don't feed that beast some sacrifices, it'll find someone who can, and those sacrifices will be innocent.

"The people who work on farms often don't own them" is something that would have been completely intuitive to 99% of people for 99% of human history but is completely unintelligible to the people who make US public policy.
Sarah TaberA very serious Rural Politico once told me "Dems have to go to farmer meetings! We gotta be where the people are!" I was in fact in a farmer meeting at that very moment! So I live-texted him the meeting. They were complaining that they want indentured workers that they don't have to pay or feed.

Understandably, folks focus on how much Peltola over performs a generic Democrat (and she does). But the Alaska Democratic Party is probably one of the best organized Democratic parties in a red state. If they flip the governorship and Senate seat, it will be because the party earned it.

Here's the thing - the issues don't matter, the problem is you're fixating on a section of the electorate that is more susceptible to right wing propaganda than the general population. If you appease them on the issue the right wing propaganda machine will pick a new issue. It's whack-a-mole.
