Even tho no one officially asserts that Claude or other chatbots possess their own subjectivity, when language implying subjectivity is used the conclusion is implicit in the premises. The language of “functional emotions” is deceptive. In the absence of subjectivity, there are no emotions, period.

I’m sorry but this is a dumb critique they use biological research as a model for ai research, but at now point did they claim or imply ai is actually alive. Biomimicry is common in AI, but that’s true for most tech design and engineering since at least the Wright Brothers

"Biology" is plainly a methods analogy here; no claim that the model is alive is required. The framing still casts Anthropic as a naturalist examining an organism it found, shifting attention from its responsibility as the engineer that built and configured it.

Exactly. To state the obvious: data centers do not grow themselves, and LLMs do not appear in nature.
