#OTD in 1948, Alice Coachman won the high jump at the London Olympic Games, becoming the first Black woman from any country to win an Olympic gold medal. She cleared 5 feet, 6 1/8 inches--setting an Olympic record (at the time). #OlympicHistory #WomenInSport #Olympics
