That keel’s gonna fail soon enough. Total loss.

How your email finds me.

The Titanic recreation is next level

"What are you doing step-shipster?"

Desperate times call for a hero to arise.

I'm not a boat doctor or anything but something about this doesn't seem ideal.

Hey @navalarchitect.bsky.social what does this do to the hull? This kinda looks dangerous to even attempt a recovery/salvage.

Now that boat looks stuck

On a tanker we would call that “a good stripping trim” 😉😀

"oops" 😜

Had an accident at work that wasn't your fault?

I see lifeboats. Are there people still on it?

Pretty sure that's salvage equipment.

I think they're life rafts, but I think they're the sort of life rafts that inflate on contact with the water so just unused ones which inflated when it sank and they came in contact with sea.

The liferafts have water-pressure-activated automatic release mechanisms, plus lines that tie them to the mount with a weak link that will only break as the ship sinks completely. These liferaft mounts went underwater, so the rafts deployed on their own, but they're still tied to the ship.

It thought it was a whale.

Better a box ship than a tanker. I bet lightering that ship was exciting.

Yeah, they've pumped a bunch of the fuel out of it to avoid having to worry about an Exxon Valdez kind of a situation

I see what has gone wrong here. They put the bow too high up and the stern too low down.

It just always wanted to be a speedboat.

If only landscape mode were a thing.

There’s a way in which this works out. The long pan is suspenseful.

@hansmollman.bsky.social Have you seen this?

Insurance companies don't want you to know you can do wheelies in your boat

This is what the folks like to call a good old-fashioned shipwreck.

So, put some logs under the drive wheels and when I say push gun the engine!

Looks like a leftover set from THE ABYSS

That boat seems well made. With that much out of the water i
