Louis Armstrong was born 4 August 1901. He was one of the first popular African-American entertainers to "cross over" to wide popularity with white audiences. He rarely publicly discussed racial issues, but took a well-publicized stand for desegregation in the Little Rock crisis. #LouisArmstrong
