Reconstruction was a scary time for white people, apparently. /s Wimington, NC, black business district was razed by white mobs in November, 1898. We didn't learn about this in school. "a munincipal level coup d'etat" that black business owners were never compensated for. Same in other states.
Eric Rosen#BLM OTD 1919 days of violence targeting Black Chicago communities ended when the National Gurard intervened. After a week of gunfire, beatings & burnings, 23 Black people & 15 white people had been killed, 537 injured & 1,000 Black families left homeless. #BlackAmericanHistoryIsAmericanHistory
