BREAM: The Journal says percentage of delinquent credit card balances is 13%, the highest in 15 years. People are using them for necessities. Your message to them? HASSETT: We talk to CEOs of the credit card companies all the time, and there's not any threat to them. People are taking a bit longer.

who cares about the people, as long as the credit card companies are making bucks.

Q: What is your message to Americans having a hard time economically? A: There's no threat to the credit card companies Thank goodness the credit card companies are safe! I was worried they wouldn't be able to afford to eat next month! As for Americans having difficulty, let them eat cake!

Ответ для RckyMtnMn

(cake… crumbs!)

Of course his only concern is that of the welfare of the credit card ceos. Regular people however…

he immediately identified the "them" that are suffering as the CEOs of credit card companies. strong Let them eat cake energy.

I am really starting to think that they are not misleading on purpose, they are straight up that stupid and disconnected.

My thought exactly. I thought it was about the consumer. Silly me. We missed the point that only corporations and and their profits matter.

The exact kind of grifting toady that Tar and Feathering is meant for.

Prerequisites for a 47 administration Position: 1. Kiss trump’s ass 2. Lie to the American people while kissing trump’s ass 3. Pledge undying loyalty to kissing trump’s ass. 4. Cruelly address policy, as long as you kiss trump’s ass. 5. Kiss trump’s ass more. 6. Don’t stop.

Why the hell would I care if CEOs of the credit card companies are worried about delinquent credit card balances? Just like the banks "too big to fail" in the 2007-2008 recession, they'll make out like bandits while ordinary Americans lose their jobs and their homes.

Ответ для Керрі Світ🇺🇦🇨🇦🇩🇰🇪🇺

They are the exact same banks. Visa/Mastercard just handle the transaction processing. It’s the issuing banks that charge interest and collect payments.

Oh thank Christ. For a moment I was afraid the humble little credit card companies might be in trouble. Thank God it is only "Big Consumer" that is struggling right now.

Nice to hear there's no threat to the banks. How about to the people, asshole?

So he’s not worried about the Corporations. They are fine.

Of course there’s no threat. This was proven after 2008.

Well, as long as there is no threat to the credit card companies I guess it's okay. 👍

What percentage of credit limits did the card companies reduce? Why were they reduced?

whew at least the ceos aren't threatened

The "K" shaped economy at work.

So, have you talked to any regular people? You're afraid too!!!

1976 Econ 101 - The tallest and biggest buildings in every major city belong to banks and insurance companies. In 50 years nothing has changed. 🤨

This would make a great SNL skit

I once worked for BofA as a senior manager in their home equity/HELOC division. People "taking longer to pay" is a big concern, as it often leads to defaults. Which any person of normal intelligence knows, of course. 🙄

Ответ для Sierra Skier

"People taking longer to pay" and "lots of defaults" are also signs that the economy is starting to run into serious trouble, even if it may not yet be bad enough to tank the banks the way they tanked in 2008. But in 2008 we had a mostly-strong economy with a gambling problem; today is way worse.

McSmirkey: My message to the American people? We talk to bank CEOs. There is no threat to them. My answer could not be clearer: We don’t care about the finances of average Americans. 🛑

This guys face make my blood boil

Not any threat to *them*; got it

Well sure, let's worry about the increased profits credit card companies are receiving instead of the consumer who is struggling to pay those credit card fees.

Hey guys, it’s cool. Don’t even worry about the credit card companies.

So this idiot is worried about the billion dollar corporation but not the American people…and now he admits it

She was asking about the people, not the CEOs. But his answer tells you everything.

Ответ для Happening Again

So nuts that was his response as if we were all worried about the CC companies. Oy vey!

Eew.

Wow. What an asshole!

I've never been much of a poker player, but this feels like kind of a tell.

Gods Hassett has an eminently punchable face. Did he actually listen to the question? Bream was talking about the credit consumers, not the CEOs, you fucking cockwomble.

There’s not any threat to the CEOs of credit card companies? I am so relieved.

That was a non answer.

Thank god that National Economic Council (NEC) director is concerned that the nasty loser common people could be a threat to the credit card company CEOs and is looking out for them. Fortunately for America people aren’t going bankrupt at a fast enough rate to affect Epstein Class profits.

Whew! “No threat to credit card companies” … I was worried about those huge conglomerates that are raking in bigly profits from those double digit interest rates.

Ответ для Rick Alexander ⚖️ ☮️

Oh good. I was worried about those banks and their ability to give bonuses to their C suite employees. If this measure only means poor people are suffering, that's terrific news!

"People are using credit cards to pay for neccessities to survive" "its ok we talk to ceos and theres no threat" ????????

It’s not just poor people in trouble, they are unemployed people looking for jobs and not finding them in every socioeconomic category that are now living off credit cards…

Not a problem at all. The credit card companies make even more money when people are behind on their payments with late fees and penalties. It’s a profit bonanza… for the credit card companies.

Ответ для Bark Marrington

Until defaults exceed profits.

I read “message to them” as in the people who are using cards for necessities. Not “them” as credit card companies. The answer here shows where the concern lies. It’s insane.

They simply do not care about the citizens. They care about the 1% making BANK!

Credit is only good when it is affordable. Burying people in unaffordable credit because policies make everything unaffordable is a recipe for 2008.

All the Dems need to do for ads is just string together clips of Trump and his minions saying gob-smackingly stupid things that show their utter disdain for regular folks.

So busy twisting CEO arms for bribes they neither know nor care what’s happening to actual ppl.

So the policies may change when there are threats to the CEOs? (...am I reading this right?)

Ответ для Flux 🤍🩶💜🖤

Cool. People who could never earn another penny and still live the rest of their lives in more luxury than most of us can imagine don't feel threatened by people going broke while not paying back their debt. This isn't really a surprise. I worked for Capital One and never will again.

Naturally the biggest concern is for the credit card companies

Ответ для LadyPup

If imposed, it might follow that credit card companies would cancel cards of those with lower credit standing. Lenders maintain loss reserves and price expected defaults into their rates—they’re structurally insulated.

Smug little twerp.

just watched a thing about Kroger saying they are reducing prices because there isn't enough in the grocery basket, meaning people are not purchasing groceries. The guy said watch for delinquent credit card debt. If it goes up, we are in real trouble.

He really said that.

These people are so out of touch.

This is exactly where the billionaire and corporate donors of the GOP want the average American to be ... in debt! And indebted American makes for a more docile and desperate worker.

Clueless!

The cc companies make out like bandits when people take longer to pay. Optimism keeps them doing whatever is necessary to stay afloat until they realise that they have no access to anything of substance and must declare bankruptcy. The cc companies will remain solvent and the CEOs happy.

That answer is dumb as hell but expected.

Now, wonder why that would be

Another winning message from the grinning fascist!

Keep it up Fox. Keep it up Hassett. This just encouraged another 100 or so viewers to either vote Democrat or stay home. We'll take the W.

Is he really as stupid as he seemingly is?

Hi America, Do you have a lot of lamp posts? I think you may be about to need them.

The CREDIT CARD companies aren't at risk?!!! OMG. That is what he is concerned about? What about the people becoming delinquent and risking bankruptcy just because they are buying food or medicine?

Pretty sure no one is worried about a threat to credit card companies. Once people start raking up late fees and in in over their heads there’s no way out. Credit card companies love this.

A

In the style of Marie Antoinette, early October 1793

so the loan sharks charging 23-33% aren’t all that bothered and there will be no discussion on why people are risking financial ruin to survive

In Canada, the 90 day delinquency rate on non mortgage debt is 1.77% and has actually gone down year over year among 18-25's. Instalment loans are highest and credit cards are 0.78% delinquent over 90 days.

“But the minute this credit card companies do start losing money, we will make sure Congress appropriates billions to cover their losses because it would crash the economy”….🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

In 2008 I lost retirement money a few years before retirement. Banks got bailed out, I got screwed. Now I live month to month on SS and every time I make adjustment to meet yet another increase, something else goes up. #FuckAmerica This time getting screwed means being homeless in ym70's.

Not one of them have to worry about putting necessities on a credit card. They DON'T live in the same world as us. 🙄

Ответ для gramadre62

I’m finally at a point where I can pay off my balance each month. It’s a luxury to not have that debt. But I know what it’s like…paid interest and late fees for years. 😡

Seems there is no threat to CEOs of credit card companies.

Those credit card companies are making a new kind of killing off of the “people are taking a bit longer.” It hasn’t come full circle yet but people & their “credit” are going to sink.

Ответ для TheCatMan

I really need to watch this again. It has been decades.

Ответ для TheCatMan

Well, yeah, except Hassett is FAR more evil. Chauncy was pretty benign.

This administration is out of touch with the economy. They think the stock market valuations are an accurate reflection of the economy. The two aren't directly correlated. The CAPE ratio for stocks is very over valued. This economy is a bug in search of a windshield.

Nobody cares about what a Nazi Muppet has to say. They are ALL full of shit! Stop giving them a platform to grandstanding from!!

IOW: Screw the worker, we're just glad the credit card corporations will be fine. It would be better if this admin talked to the average John & Mary Public "all the time" to check to see if they're fine

You could not get a better indication of how this administration thinks. This was a question about regular people going into credit debt and Kevin Hassett's first thought is about the CEO's of the credit card companies. This tells you all you need to know.

“We talk to the CEOs of the credit card companies” is the antithesis of a flex.

Citizens are paying high interest rates to pay for groceries, which are also high. Unsustainable. “I spoke to bankruptcy lawyers and they’re doing land office business”

Worried more about the companies than the people.

Lmfao talking to the ceo's as if they are the ones going into debt.

Just happy there’s someone out there looking out for the CEOs.

Sheesh! Talk about living in a bubble and not seeing the wider, sadder view!

Amazing. He just doesn't get it. He thinks we're worried about the credit card companies

Hassett: "We talk to CEOs of credit card companies all the time" and there's "no threat to them [CEO salaries]" Hey Hassett, way to show who the republicans are really concerned about=CEO salaries not decreasing and only increasing

Whew! I’ve been so worried about the credit card companies.

So missing the point.

People are taking longer and taking hits to their credit score! Why doesn’t he get this? Taking longer only hurts NOT help people who are struggling financially due to this administration! 🤬🤬🤬

Ответ для forced2bnice2u

He gets it, but this administration does not care in the least about the ordinary American people unless the administration benefits in some way.

Funny (not) now he interprets "Your message to them?" ... "them" being executives at credit card companies not the actual citizens being impacted. We know exactly where this admin's loyalty lies.

Them - the ceos.

The Baghdad Bob vibes from this administration’s bobbleheaded sycophants are just getting worse by the day

"It's okay. Ruin your credit for groceries."

Of course no pushback from the propaganda trump channel. They/the chief thief never cared about regular Americans, its all about the donor class. Maggots are too brainwashed to know whats happening to them.

Glad they talk to the CEO’s of credit card companies and the banks issuing the cards. Next conversation should be to suspend late penalties and the lowering of interest rates. No bank or credit card company should profit on the backs of Americans struggling due the failed administration policies.

What a relief that the credit card CEOs are OK. I was so worried.

Why do they still allow this guy on TV? It's one thing to be a combative asshole like the rest of this administration, but this guy is just a smiling idiot who tells you not to believe your eyes or the polling or the financial reporting and keeps predicting 6% growth. Who is this for?

And the personal bankruptcy lawyers are telling us that business is good and getting better. 🤗

Wait. He thinks the relevant concern is for the CEOs of the CC companies?!?! "There's no threat to them..." they're raking in interest and late fees!

In his world "them" only ever means the rich.

It should be illegal to charge CC interest on grocery purchases. Same for a “base amount of fuel” to get to their jobs. Is there a place for regular folks to register that their wages have not gone up with prices. Maybe…call congress or Trump? Oops! No help there! Sorry…

In a breathtaking moment of accidental honesty, Hassett misunderstands the question “what does delinquency mean for Americans suffering from increased costs?” He reframes the question because he’s not capable of acknowledging that we exist - only corporations matter. Can’t wait for the Dem ads.

Who is them in this sentence, "We talk to CEOs of the credit card companies all the time, and there's not any threat to them."

A bit longer to what? Go in to bankruptcy?

Omg I’m SO relieved the rich continue to get richer while the rest of us are using it credit cards for food! It was keeping me up at night, sincerely.

Glad the credit card companies aren’t worried. They’re sitting pretty with the sky high interest rates they charge in normal times. Struggling folks must be paying late because they’re so excited about the boom that’s “about to come.” Get real. Get gone, Hassett, along with your co-shysters.

What happened to Trump’s promise of 10% interest rates?

I can see him staring into space with that grin giggling away at some point.

Trump could DEMAND that every card company who supports him ‘cancel’ ALL credit debt to hep regular citizens.

That’s who he cares about. Not the people drowning in an ocean of high interest debt. The credit card companies.
