Automobile safety. Crashes are waaay more survivable than they were when I was a kid, even as speed limits have increased. Air bags, crumple zones , seatbelt laws, collapsible steering columns, blind-spot detection, backup cameras- all big improvements. Now REPAIRING cars, on the other hand....
