Using the hashtag ‘Viking’ is inaccurate. This boat is 350-400 years after the Viking period - Scandinavia was fully Christian by this period. It’s a late medieval Cog. Still fantastic, but yeah…

Very nitpicky, but the arrival of christianity has little to do with the end of the viking age. Lots of vikings were in fact christians.

They became Christians. But the true viking age was over by 1066. To say this this boat has anything to do with the Vikings is a stretch that I wouldn’t be comfortable with. There’s nothing wrong with saying it’s from the medieval period. There’s no need to use the term ‘Viking’.

No, absolutely. I didn’t mean that this boat was a viking boat. It wasn’t. 1066 is the most commin year for the viking age end. In Sweden some times a bit later. Baltics and Finland 12th century could still be called viking age. But 15th, no way.
