Someone needs to teach those kids the notion of 'marking your opponent'. Each of the adult players should have had 9 kids surrounding them and intercepting every pass. Just shows they are being very poorly coached.

a very few number of those 100 kid soccer players were girls. there may have been only one that I saw over and over again because she was so aggressive. Then again there may have been many girls with short hair.

That’s what every soccer game looks like to my admittedly untrained eye.

Oh this is so cute. Those kids are working it! But I'm exhausted. Soccer is exhausting. My kids played, I was soccer Mom, snack shack volunteer.

It's less fun when you learn that the squad that lost this game was executed on live TV.

Reminds me, when I was about 15 and keen runner, having completed about 6 miles the last of which was up a steep hill, I passed an alleyway to a school and heard a kid say ‘look there’s a real runner’ within seconds I was engulfed by a swarm of 7 year olds, I had to beat them and did, only just!

I thought “this is adorable” and then I saw the 20 goalkeepers and just started laughing. This is awesome! Every team should do this!

My favorite thing about this is that some kid will be able to brag that he stole a pass from a member of the national team.

I would pay good money to see this before every professional soccer game.

Masters playing against tyros? SMH I just don't find this funny. The kids get a work out, sure, but they learn nothing. They earn ridicule instead of respect. The Master players basically get a light day. *Shrug*

among the many things i miss about japan on a daily basis is the tv there. had no idea what anyone was saying but it was the most friendly, fun content at all times

This show does a lot of “five pros versus a hundred novices” events, they’re always a blast.

The last football game I played was about 20 years ago when five of us 25 year olds played 10 local Bolivian children.... at 4,000 metres above sea level. Was a pretty close contest.

100 kids who don't know how to slide tackle, you mean.

The kids are basically dealt with as if they were a dynamic probability density function (PDF, not the document type) and routed around by the professionals who only experience a genuine difficulty when faced with a solid wall of multiple goalies (whom they eventually overwhelm). Good stuff.

They knew the assignment and did it well. Beautiful.

And then we bought the children in and dressed them in festive outfits and said - chase these men and try to take their prize from them! And thus a delightful mayhem ensued.

That's fun for all. In junior hockey coaches drafted us to help with little kids teams, everything from 1 on 1 tutors to human pylons. End of practice would be 3 of us vs mob of 9-10 year olds. Glorious chaos, made real bonds between ages. So smart, and taught us hockey players give back.

As a very young kid our old Rugby teacher used to do this and get all of us to try and tackle him. He was such a character. Short Scottish guy. He ran like a bullet for a guy in his 60s. Some of the funniest games were a whole class of about 20 versus him.
