According to Billy West, Nickelodeon's S&P objected to the sexy woman drawings the artists liked to put in Ren & Stimpy, so the artists started drawing beefy men in thongs instead. Nick OKed it because it was no longer sexist, then the show aired on TV and they were horrified at what they'd wrought.
