If people have to struggle and starve so a handful of people can be rich, there simply should be anyone rich. We all deserve to live comfortable and it is very much possible so long as we regulate the few with the most wealth. Wealth, I might add, that was build on the backs of many.
Like Czarist Russa, Feudal China, and Vietnam before their communist revolutions.
Socialist countries never turn communist, only abusive capitalist countries do.
A country which glorifies money, power and celebrity status over critical metrics such as healthcare, education, human rights and mental health. No wonder it's crumbling into chaos
They are parasites and until we treat them as such they will multiply. Fleas on a dog long enough and the dog becomes anemic. Ticks on a deer, horse or cow, the same.
They are the Parasite Class.
No one should want to live in a society where one single individual can be worth $1tn, no matter their personal virtues: such levels invariably skew power, distort marketsand sap our democratic ideals.
I would actually say that having ultra poor people is a sign of a diseased society.
I don’t care if we have ultra wealthy citizens, just so long as we don’t have unhoused, unfed, and unwell citizens.
Wait until Elon funds a space project to seed other planets with clones of him and sends You the Bill. Musk is Too Wealthy to Spend His Money when He can Embezzle Yours!
The median starter home is a million dollars and growing faster than wages.
The only way to get people to support such a sick society is to have a middle class that gets a taste of the good life. That's gone and everything built upon it is going to topple at some point. Maybe soon.
We could vote for changing the policies on wealth by increasing the highest progressive tax rate but we never seem to have the gumption to actually nominate such individuals even when they run and campaign on it. Democracy is dying.
Having a 1% ultra wealthy people is not a sign of a 100% healthy society When 99% are a pay check away from Destitution with Zero Safety Net. It is a sign of a diseased society. Rotting from the Head!
depends, remember, there is a world where the ultra poor do not exist, and everyone is middle class or higher. In that case? yeah I think we can allow it. There's other examples, just my first thought
There's absolutely nothing wrong with a society having ultra-wealthy people, it's having poor people that is the problem.
It is possible to have ultra-wealthy people and zero poverty.
Just think while we live in the wastes from their businesses, paying the increased utility cost of their A.I. centers, fighting the wars that feed them profits, they are safe on their superyachts and in their bunkers.

I'm going to register as a business and start stealing water and power from the local municipal system and then promise them jobs as I take a watery shit on their desk when and if they question me. That should get me a pardon.
A billionaire is living proof that some people are being paid too little and others are being charged too much.
Our tax system needs to adjust to account for how much a person uses The Commons to make their wealth.
A teacher, a plumber - they use “1 Commons Unit.”
Bezos? How much?
Billionaires send me into conversations about exploitation. Exploitation of the workers, exploitation of customers, exploitation of government resources and policies.
All of the exploitation is dedicated to extraction of the wealth that workers/society generate.
Have I mentioned private equity?
There shouldn't be trillionaires and people starving on the streets. They should have their wealth taken and redistributed. Leave them like 5-10 million each so they can have their own land and new business. If they're really good at business like they say they are, they can get back their money.
