Some photos from inside the very lovely building which is the Victoria Baths (opened in 1906 if I remember correctly), which was the venue for a wedding I attended yesterday in Manchester.
It’s hard to believe that when they came to refurbish this corridor of glass set in metal that they first had to remove the layer of tarmac someone from the council had decided was a good idea to put on top of it! 😳
There are 3 pools at Victoria Baths, which are a reminder of how women were treated and considered the lowest of the low in society. The 1st class men’s pool water was moved to the 2nd class men’s pool after 3 days of their dirt, then from there to women’s pool after another 3 days. No chlorine.
