Dear Democratic politicians, Lindsey Graham deliberately chose to spend his last years making the lives of people in the US and abroad as miserable as possible. The fact that he also had that certain brand of charming southern geniality for his colleagues makes it worse, actually.

A liar, a traitor, a racist, a sex abuse defender, a flipper, an opportunist…good riddance to bad rubbish, as my mother used to say.

I heard Cory Booker talking about him earlier today and it made me physically sick.

Fucking Dems will never get it. A spine, that is.

He sold out and turned on some of his longest friendships across the aisle.

I will always remember Susan Collins for her crucial Kavanaugh vote, and I will always remember Lindsey Graham for his Kavanaugh histrionics that were so hypocritical and so typically Republican.

This is his real face. The face that wouldn't be out of place in a crowd of jeering racists abusing people of color. A face full of hate.

Senator Graham was never disagreeable to other senators. That's only 99 other people. The rest of us count too and we don't care that he always had a joke for you. We care that he was dead set on genocide and stealing all our rights.

Apparently no ever told these Democratic politicians that saying absolutely nothing is an option.

"My condolences to his family" is easy and non-committal.

God yes. The folksy accent bullshit makes it much worse. And a lot of democrats said the same kind of crap about Strom Thurmond, one of the most vile racists in recent history.

The Reagan effect. Many people are so swayed by personal charm that can’t see the dastardly evil.

I think people shouldn't care too much how others respond to Graham's death. There's always interpersonal politics going on that may be more important than sticking it to the dead. Even Mamdani laughed and shook Trump's hand because getting NYC aid was more important.

What political benefit is anyone getting from fellating a corpse?

I’m saddened to announce the passing of my work colleague, The Butcher of Gallitep. While we were often on opposing sides of the business, I always enjoyed how his labor camp was the very model of order and efficiency.

My thoughts exactly

The last thing you saw was him smiling as he stabbed you.

This was my experience of old-fashioned Southern charm and good manners. Shitty bigotry with a twinkling smile.

Malcolm Wilson

Byron McMahon was a handsome, incredibly well-mannered and well-spoken wealthy businessman. His family had a hotel chain, and Byron regaled us with stories and his old fashioned southern manners. And then he started to talk about race. I can’t repeat anything he said. We asked him to stop or leave.

And his miserable closed homosexuality was a thumb in the eye to the LGBTQ community. Maybe he'll finally find love in Hell.

His congeniality blinded his colleagues from opposing his evil warmongering

"Is this Heaven?"

um…. just, wow😳

The only one I give a pass to is Warnock, and that's only because he is a minister.

Well, bless his heart. I'm from the north, anyone with that certain brand of southern hospitality and demeanor comes off as a used car salesman who works in insurance on the weekends.

Exactly. Charming southern geniality masked a lot of white trash back in the day.

They could have just put a Grindr flag at half staff, as is tradition for "southern gentlemen."

That it worked on Democratic senators is worse still.

Exactly. This is why politicians are viewed as complete phonies. If I met Trump tomorrow, I wouldn't be star stuck and kiss his ring, I would say the same shit I say every day, which is " Sir, you are a horrible fucking human being" or just say nothing. But being phony is never an option.

Saying nothing is not an option. I always joke that if I somehow got an invitation to the White House, it would be my bad luck to have it happen while Trump is in office. I would decline. But if I did go, I think I would try to barf on Trump’s Florsheims.
