I had a scary experience about 15 years ago in a little bay off Waiheke. My friends were on scuba collecting scallops, I stayed on the boat as I had a cold. Dive flag was up. Catamaran came in and dropped a dredge and started towing through exactly where my friends were diving. Thankfully all OK.
