It means we should probably build a fuckton more housing. But also - what is this person's definition of "the boonies?" I just went on zillow and even 2 miles from downtown there's lots of homes that would be affordable on that income.

I genuinely think that a lot of this discourse on here comes from young people who feel like their lives would be over if they didn't live directly in the most happening places with all their other cool young friends at all times

I like living in a cool place - I rent! I could afford a house in a less cool place. These are trade offs! Not being able to afford a sfh in an expensive, desirable urban location isn't a sign of the economy as a whole crumbling even if it is personally inconvenient.
