This is quite literally why I have been working on my ttrpg book “revisions to the demonomicon”!!! I mean marking demons as “all evil” feels more socially acceptable but it still feels icky, especially when so many mythological monsters are lifted from irl cultures

I'm willing to mark specifically hellborn type demons as all evil. but even if evil is in their nature, they may do moments of good, moments of kindness, and maybe they pay some kinda metaphysical price for that kindness, but they should still be capable of performing it under the rules.

that being said? If you don't want all demons to be evil in your settings? that's 100% ok, and should be valued and respected without people sneering at you from behind their hands about "humanizing everything"

A through line in a lot of ttrpgs is that frieneds are “evil and chaotic” to the point it sounds as if they lack any form of cutler. Sure, the practices of a group of monsters may be evil from the perspective of one culture but no one who is “evil” sees themselves as “evil”
