...so I have about six sociopath billionaire dragons that have very few redeeming qualities other than "vast treasure". I guess they're a race? But they're a metaphor for the ultrarich ...but is this bad? They COULD be nice, but probably won't be?

yeah. They're an immortal race of jerks who think life is a game and they are gonna play to WIN. Everything's a game to them, so when they found out about mercantile and capitalism they went OFF and make corporations and are now playing against each other the Win the Stock Market.
