We tried to save our pug Hans Sr but he couldn't walk anymore... always in pain... stopped to eating and drinking... once the decision was announced... the Vet came over and Hans Sr was gone. My Spouse cried and cried and cried for months... We soon got Hans Jr and Gretel but my Spouse still cried.
