This is why MLB has built a "war chest" (IIRC, about USD$2-3bn) to help teams over the course of their lockout. The theory is that they'll starve the MLBPA into submission, but there's more than one team that for whom the loss of a season's revenues could be devastating, and they'd starve as well.
