I‘m so inured to the idea Black kids are always adopted into white families from American media, I accidentally made an embarrassingly racist comment to our vet… Spoilers: they weren’t adopted. I’m SO lucky she was graceful and I’ve def been working to educate myself on American culture since X.x;
