I abandoned the Xbox when ads appeared on the dashboard I walked away from a 10 year old account that had many purchases attached to it simply because I loathe adverts I've already decided to walk away from Sony because of the physical abandonment, but this justifies my descision even more

I've been a PC gamer for a while, but that's partly because of fiscal issues. I am on the upward climb out of those issues. In the next year or two is when I could have afforded to get a console, if I wanted to. Now I really don't want to.

There is actually a reasonable place for ads in games, and that's where you'd see ads in real life. On in-game billboards (say, in a driving game); around soccer pitches; hey, if you've got an in-game TV for whatever reason, it might as well be showing real ads. But none of them realise that.
