In 1990 my car was shot up right in front of my apartment in Houston. We called 911 to tell them there were people shooting guns outside of our apartment (10-15 ft from where we were hiding behind the furniture). 911 recorded it as "shots fired in distance" & the cops showed up 6+ hours later.
