He should just appoint someone.

We all know this still stinks to high heaven. Gov. Andy Beshear says he still hasn’t received an official update from Sen. Mitch McConnell. “I’ve had no official response. Nothing sent to our office, no letter, no email.”

The law that was passed may not be constitutionally valid. If he appoints someone, then Mitch will have to come out of hiding.

And the GOP supermajority in the Kentucky legislature would impeach Beshear lickity split and convict him too. His senate appointee would not be sworn in by Thune either.
