Why have a Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices when a traffic engineer can simply ignore the parts they do not like? I want to install in-street stop for pedestrian signs which is allowed per the MUTCD and you would think I had asked for their first born child.

Like this? This is on the eastern side of Alexandria on Pitt and First. Asked staff to consider adding one at Mill and Mill at the end of the new cycle track

Oh, sorry, misread your post. I was hoping to get a real stop sign at the Mill Road intersection. Installed in the buffer area to the left of the painted bike rider. Drivers stop, while people riding a bike either turn right or proceed forward to the next stop sign.
