So what happens if you find out on the day you have been removed? Will they let you file a special vote? I ask because I was removed from the roll last year despite not moving and having voted in all previous elections for 40+ years. We do need to know when they stop removing people.

I think part of the cause for concern (unfounded or not) is the Electoral commission's wording is if you think you are on the roll you can cast a special, but it will only count if you are [present tense] on the roll, which on the surface doesn't seem to cover people who used to be on.
