…the saga of the Lincoln Reflecting Pool touches upon everything dysfunctional, corrupt, or just plain wrong about the Trump presidency—the graft, the incompetence, the pettiness, the dishonesty, the sycophancy, the backstabbing, etc. This story has EVERYTHING.

And at the center of it all: a PROFOUNDLY flawed, DEEPLY insecure old fascist desperate to secure an honored place in American history by remodeling Washington DC in his own chintzy image, juxtaposed against (and stymied by) the sombre dignity of Abraham Fucking Lincoln. That’s synecdoche, baby.

It really does have everything and not sure if throwing Piro under the bus will stop it. Trump needed a box cutter wielding vandal. He got one complete with video. Does this "oops" end the debacle? Will Trump apologize? When pigs fly.
