finally catching up on the new strokes lp that's earning raves from a number of vet rock crits & it's... middling? at best? like, a destined-to-be-memory-holed-in-under-two-years type of consistent middling. an ambitious misfire that mistakes style for passion. interesting, but far from stellar.
