100% correct, but probably good if these folks feel iyts a “dodge” bc this is a case of “money as principles” not “money as money” (a thing you might see when trying to plan a wedding w family paying) but the operating principle is “I will pay money to stick the finger to gov not in support of it”

I mean they're being babies about this, but "dodging a loophole" by moving someone into the property/renting it out long term/establishing residency here is kind of the point??

IMO this somewhat explains why as folks get richer you see tendency to get cheaper/worry about things being “worth the money”. budget is no longer the calculus so you need some operating principle behind purchasws so “is this a fair price” becomes moral question unshackled from real life calculus
