Hey here’s turf I can have an opinion on! McCartney is melodic but cloying, Lennon is clever but sloppy. Together they made up for each other’s weaknesses; that’s what made it work. Neither had much comparable work after the breakup. I’m sure they fought like alley cats but the result waa unmatched.
