Thank you, Padilla 🙏

💪

So far as I know we can sue federal entities only in two strictly defined cases, one of them is for religious reasons.

What pile of 'never to be seen' bills did the GOP drop it on?

How about a bill that gets rid of the electoral college and turns the United States into an actual democracy rather than bills that are nothing more than political theater?

Ответ для rayinrichmond

And when I say a "bill", I obviously mean a constitutional amendment.

Amazing we need a law to protect the citizens from the President I guess the President truly is above the law

Burn it to the ground, and sell those who collaborated to a slave-labor country. The GOP traitors made the new "rules"... Lets apply them to these traitors and purge our country of this infection. Then we put things back better than they were before.

Love this but didn't the Supreme Corrupt give Trump immunity from every crimes he commits while in office?

Ответ для On life's Journey

The real question is: Did the Supreme Court commit a crime?

Ответ для SWA

Chuckling---did the Federalist on the Supreme Court commit a crime - or should be ask how many?

Keep an eye on Senator Padilla. I was a lobbyist when he was in the California Senate. Really solid, serious, good ties to community. Extremely smart, not flashy. Dependable. Former CA Sec of State & LA City Council. Good age, 53 so he’ll be around for whatever we need him for. Even prez.

Ответ для Shannon

He did really good work as Secretary of State by expanding voting rights and access to voting specifically for younger voters. More recently, he stood up to ICE and put his body on the line resulting in fascists assaulting him during a press conference. We need this energy.

Ответ для Seawied

That said, this bill is theatrics and will be ruled unconstitutional, but it will eat up time and energy of the Trump administration by putting them on defense. Don't expect it to go through, but that's not the point. This is part of the strategy of how we wear them out.

Ответ для Seawied

And it also shows we’re not willing to let things slide. My wish list includes training a whole generation of lawyers to go after all these grifters. Start with the biggest fish though, often the smaller easier ones are first but go for the snake’s head immediately.

Ответ для Shannon

Fully agreed. Go big from the get go and make the rest afraid. Trump has learned that he can flood the zone with so much corruption that people will be satisfyed frying small fish for years. He doesn't need his power to last forever, just the rest of his short life.

Ответ для Seawied

He didn’t do anything but accept that treatment. That’s no win. He showed that that treatment was good enough for a congressman, more than good enough for you or me. Yeah, Nope.

Ответ для Shannon

Got thrown to the floor by Kristi Noem’s thugs and took it without any legal action. Setting that as acceptable for a congressman, let alone a citizen. Yeah, nope.

Ответ для Shannon

He’s awesome he’s my Senator.

✋🏻

Brilliant!

Yes. Sign me up!

Awesome! Where do I sign up...

THANK YOU! We also need to be able to get the money back for these ridiculous DOJ investigations. Waste of resources.

we are so far in the shitter

Does this apply to a sleeping poosident?

It’s the wrong place to stand. Don’t stand for corrupt leaders being held accountable; stand against a system that elects these mediocre antiScience hustlers

Our government is supposed to work for us . So rightfully we should be able to fire them when they don’t do their jobs. At any time !! Any business would not allow employees to steal, waste or lose money, sleep on the job, Lie, cheat … Americans SHOULD have a say , not be ignored!

This is my Senator and I couldn’t be more proud! He is a good man fighting to do the right thing in this messed up country.

Seems like there are laws in the books that would already accommodate that... Like seizing the asset of drug lords. Disgorgement.

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 he has taken billions. Glad to see this being done. Next on list, no hand outs to muck, bozo and other billionaires

It should also be a crime for a president to leave office with a ridiculous debt for the country !

Would a class action suit on behalf of investors who do not pay the $100,00 fee be appropriate? Would a civil or criminal action from a state AG be appropriate? [AGs] bear unique responsibilities in protecting consumers from misinformation, scams, and negligence. www.stateag.org/policy-areas...

It will go nowhere, but I like the way they’re thinking.

Until he stops backing genocide he can screw off. Even if he stops backing genocide he can screw off.

Finally!!!!

Finally, someone, anyone is seeking even a scintilla of accountability towards the Trumps.

It'll never make it past the pres.

Let's get that passed, take the money, and use it to pay for the healthcare of all of the people who had their healthcare taken away by Trump.

We should get a refund!

👍

👍👏👏💙🩵

Sitting Presidents should not be allowed to start personal lawsuits especially involving government agencies (eg the IRS)! Capital One was correct in closing the Trump crime family accounts over possible money laundering. Other banks should have followed suit!

THANK YOU. NOW . . . GET SERIOUSLY BUSY AND IMPEACH THAT PIECE OF SH*T.

I wonder if the SCOTUS presidential immunity would prevent this?

(Excellent, but why isn't this already illegal, and why would a bill be necessary?)

Unconstitutional

Does it include sitting on their asses Congressmembers?

Good, because that asshole has made more money in a few months than corporation make in years.

I’d vote for that.

Should’ve wrote that years ago.

Trump taxes are wrong. Only democrat taxes aren't

That’s great. Pass it before we celebrate anything, otherwise it’s just a fantasy on a page.

No one should be above all the laws of a country or protected from prosecution just because they are in that or any office. And they should not be in charge of holding each other accountable.

Seriously add unconstitutional payments as well. Give the emoluments clause some teeth

As good as this sounds with the current crook in office it’s a bad idea in general

Good luck getting any Republicans to vote for it and Trump will NEVER sign it.

👍👏😁

Nice job! That is an excellent Bill!

HISTORY LESSON When The Nazi Regime Was Defeated, The German Government Paid Reparations To Survivors Of Their Cruelty The Trump Administration And All Republicans Should Be Audited In Order To Pay Back All The American Taxpayers Whose Money They Have Stolen Through Their Corruption!

Ответ для theschnitz

Don’t worry when Trunps gone, his golf courses will abd properties will be seized and put back into America’s coffers

Ответ для Ruth Sent Us

Gawd wouldn’t that be nice?

And why not? POTUS is supposed to be an individual with the highest of character and integrity. If it's determined he/she is corrupt, then the law should come down even HARDER. No exceptions, and definitely no immunity. That's absurd. What kind of shit hole country would allow such a ... never mind.

Proper order

We all need to sue for the constant and continues bullying of our citizens.

Okay... Supreme Court ruling says he's basically immune. I'm sure they'll broaden the interpretation here to cement it.

How about a bill to vote to recall a corrupt president as well? Impeachment is moot with a corrupt congress.

How would a corrupt Trump DOJ enforce that?

Cool!

How about a class action suit by citizens against the current occupant of OUR White House and the Republican Party for alienation of our patriotism. They’ve purposefully twisted the government and driven a wedge between US. That’s treason.

Ответ для BD Max 🌵 🏜️ 🌄🌎🌏🌍💙🇺🇦🦋🧢

Agreed. This Supreme Court handing over absolute power because someone wins an election isn't the intent of any law, let anyone the Constitution. Time to bring back accountability.

Ответ для Beavker

He loves to go to court. He’s that narcissistic to think he’ll always win. If citizens could join a suit and a lawyer would take it on I think a jury would find against him. Even RedHats agree he’s screwed up our sentiments. We just want to trust our government again. Nobody trusts them now.

We need a constitutional amendment for "We the People" to remove a sitting president for violating the constitution, corruption, and high crimes, through a majority vote of referendum.

Pass the bill. I most certainly have standing as a damaged citizen.

Doesn't SCOTUS' immunity ruling make that meaningless? I understood that it said immune while performing duties as president. He was performing a duty as president when he pulled his corrupt Reflecting Pool stunt.

Ответ для ElleM

Presidents have immunity from criminal prosecution for official acts within the core powers of the presidency. This would be civil action, not criminal. And the corrupt acts could well be outside core powers.

Ответ для LilyWight

Corrupt action c o u l d be outside, but given that he is corrupt about most things, it seems that’s not necessarily so. He had the right to renovate the Reflecting pool, how he did it was corrupt. He can argue thtat as president he did what he thought was best.

Ответ для ElleM

Very true. The clever thing about this law is that it circumvents presidential immunity, because it's about civil action, not criminal.

Ответ для LilyWight

I see now. Brilliant!

The only time this has been necessary.

trump would just keep appealing it until you couldn't afford the lawyers anymore.

Let’s pass that bill when dems get control. No use now because the fearful ass kissers are in power.

I keep saying we need a class action lawsuit 2/3 of the country can sign onto it clearly they’re not without cause! Crimes against humanity there’s no way he should be absolved of any of it, and SCOTUS evil 6 can kiss my ass. They really fucked Any idea that they’re loyal to the constitution

He’s my senator. ❤️❤️

That it’s come to this 🙄

THANK YOU!

Let’s do it!

We better hurry

💯

Think we can get this to pass in Congress after November?

SCOTUS will of course disallow it. Can’t have the little people having any way to control their president…

Haven’t been a fan of Schumer but applaud the clawback. I’ve been on that concept for over a year. Wonder if it can be raised so Repubs have to vote on it before November?

Let’s get it all back!!! 🙌🏻

I would rather the public get to impeach a sitting president, scotus, and congress.

I thought we were already able to sue him.

What fun!

Ответ для LillianDCA

Smug Despicable MAGGOT ! Hope roberts is : Investigated, indicted, convicted, incarcerated and his cell mates are Drumpf, Musk, the Ghost of Epstein and they are all shackled to Melania, the Einstein genius, for 15-20 years! Punishment: NO McDONALD's ever again. NO DIET COKE EVER again.

SCOTUS will reverse it. They already ruled that the current sitting President can violate any laws he wants!

Ответ для Michaelrhuff

That is not what they ruled. He is immune from prosecution for “official acts.” www.scotusblog.com/2024/07/just...

Justices rule Trump has some immunity from prosecutionThis article was updated on July 1 at 3:32 p.m. In a historic decision, a divided Supreme Court on Monday ruled that former presidents can never be prosecuted for actions relating to the core powers…www.scotusblog.com
Ответ для kellinix 💖 ⭐️

But they left the decision of what an official act is to Trump. Trump violated the Emoluments Clause, nothing. He used his position to control the stock market, nothing. He gave no-bid contracts to donors, nothing. He orchestrated a coup, nothing. He was convicted of rape and tax fraud, nothing.

Ответ для Michaelrhuff

I’m not disagreeing with you. Ultimately the issue is he probably could be taken up on criminal charges but who would do it? That’s the problem.

Ответ для kellinix 💖 ⭐️

Hopefully the Dems will regain both Houses. SCOTUS will then have to overturn any ruling by the lower courts. The majority knows that public opinion is against them so they may not act on a ruling. That would depend on their loyalty to the Federalist Society and Project 2025.

Ответ для Michaelrhuff

Also, suing falls in the realm of civil, and not criminal, action.

I am so old I remember when the Supreme Court said that a sitting president can be sued while in office and just has to deal with it.

Cool DOA bill guys.

Ответ для Rep. Spicoli (D-CA)

With this current congress and administration, I agree. It will never pass. I like the energy but it won’t go anywhere.

🔥🔥🔥 The Trump family needs to go to prison. Take their money and give back healthcare to tens of millions of us.

Now this is stupid political grandstanding! It would be weaponized by the opposition, as no doubt there will be one when the Dems are in power, regardless of truth What we need is maneuvering in the Senate by the Dems to drive accountability as a minority party and hold votes that expose the Reps.

Did no one just watch what they tried to do to Fauci? As soon as we elect a Dem president it’ll be nothing but law suits they’ll have to deal with instead of governing our country. Not sure bout this but I’m not saying the current occupant doesn’t deserve accountability but we should tread lightly

Ответ для happywarrior24

Our former AG, Merrick Garland, sought accountability with the lightest of treads and got us nothing. I’d prefer we come down on them like a ton of bricks.

Ответ для reggiewallinsky

So you’ll be ok when they use this against the next president they make up corruption about?

Ответ для happywarrior24

If they adhere to rule of law, of course! Progressives are not afraid of accountability.

Ответ для Cornflower, the beautiful weed

You’ve lost my point entirely. I agree if they’re corrupt either party they should be held accountable. But that’s not what weaponizing the government means. It means exactly what they tried to do to Fauci, and Comey. That will happen again & again if you give them this kind of power.

Congressman, Did you mean to say to Drumpf, "You're a SLEEPING PRESIDENT" ! Or perhaps: You're a STUPID PRESIDENT" ? Fatso's 2 Hour "weave" should have been announced as a political campaign speech (was it for the 2020 POTUS election?)

I can write stuff too. Does anyone honestly think this will pass?

Good luck hiring a lawyer.

Who is this hero and have I heard of him before?

Ответ для k-jmiller

You might remember him from this incident where he stood up to the Kristi Norm, the now Former Homeland Security Secretary whose husband had a bimbofication fetish.

Fat chance that the spineless Republicans will back that bill.

👏👏👏

Thanks for the effort, but we know this will never pass. Maybe later! 🤞🏼

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 we then could have a class action lawsuit suit and take all his billion he’s made on our time

We need a bill so the American people can impeach and sitting official

Ответ для ChewieArtist

But who decides if it’s a valid reason 😕 (Just imagining the absolute pandemonium MAGA would cause with that option)

Ответ для Mel 🦋🌺🌊

It should involve a threshold for a petition and then a majority vote.

Ответ для bethhigdon

Great idea

Ответ для Mel 🦋🌺🌊

The courts.

Ответ для ChewieArtist

How about a "vote of confidence"? If a certain percentage of the constituents sign a petition for a vote of confidence, they hold a special election to see if the candidate can get enough "yes" votes. If not, they lose their seat mid-term and get replaced by a second special election.

Ответ для ChewieArtist

We just need to take back the House to impeach, taking back the Senate also would be ideal.

Thank you Senator Padilla

Hmmmmm!!!

F around and find out should be the name of that bill!

It won't pass and everyone knows it. Sadly.

Somehow, those 6 would find a way around anything to get to where they want. And it ain't democracy.

Let’s do it!

I do not live anymore in SOCAL, nor am I registered to vote there. Wish I did; he is a true leader, statesman, patriot, and appears to be a good guy.

Ответ для 24foorggrifter

I echo your comments. I was a lobbyist when he was in the California Senate. My client, American Assoc of Univ Women helped with his bills to help college athletes on scholarship be able to stay in school if they became injured. Ppl can change when they experience power, never saw any of that in him

The Supreme Court will shut that down quicker than white on KKK.

Yes! We need to do that. Hasn't South Korea prosecuted a few Presidents/PMs for corruption while in office? I think we can handle that. Family members may not do business with the Federal Govt while President is in office, too.

It’s amazing the things we never had to worry about until the Criminal-in-Chief got into the White House. 😱

The public who paid mandated taxes have the right to sue & claw back ill-gotten money. An individual or group have no entitlement to steal or personally benefit through corruption. No Title nor Office has the right to extract $ through corruption.

Now there's an idea.

There is already an existing option which is called Professional Malfeasance. An action taken in the "business world" that is so obviously flawed with a patently obvious negative outcome that no reasonable person would take the same action.

Ответ для TedEJr528647

So, if Trump is taking some of those massive bribes from business interests, or is engaging in business transactions in his private capacity and for his private profit, he should be able to be sued. If the Supreme Court hadn’t given him carte Blanche!

Ответ для Dr. Tea, Cake, & Revolution.

They didn't give him Carte Blanche protection against civil action. Only criminal. 😁

He was California Secretary of State during Trump I. Did a great job protecting our voter data and elections. This bill unfortunately is performative, it has no hope of passing.

I applaud him. As farcical as it is sign me up if it ever sees the light of day. Looks like a move Robin-hood would have made.

Will that stop the traitorous SCOTUS-6 from defining the "official actions" of our so-called President?

LFG 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Yes please

Need to recoup the money so we can tear down all the shit he put up and redo the east wing.

Now that's my senator!!

Hmm. Wonder if he has anyone specific in mind, or if it’s totally hypothetical.

Ответ для TanSuit

Purely hypothetical, I’m sure! Can you imagine how horrible it would be if we had a corrupt president? 😧

Ответ для SuperMarina

Yes, I can imagine it. 🤔

As it should be. Trump is stealing from us & denying people food security, housing security, healthcare security, living wages, funded public schools, affordable housing.

I hope it includes all the ones profiting directly or indirectly from corruption. Contracts and pardons out of corruptions are null and void. And add a mandated 50% punitive charge.

Ответ для Quiz!Baby

Including the no bid military contracts to his useless sons, etc.

I'd love to see this expanded to include corrupt members of congress, governors, and other elected officials, to allow the constituencies to sue their representatives for salary earned, and illegal earnings, gained through corrupt/criminal activity while in office.

Thank you Alex.

That’s fantastic! Now write a bill that says if politicians lie they have to resign.

Can they just impeach him...??? Yall can't sue him or remove him, but you think a random citizen can do it...??

🙏👏👏👏👏👏👏

I'm sure they will make this a law to apply it for Democratic presidents only.

Jesus Murphy, you’d think this would be a given.

So did he get it passed and signed? Or is it more auto-erotica?
