The entire continental US is covered by smoke plumes and there are spots in the northwest that are absurdly toxic, do NOT go outside there. For reference, "hazardous" starts at an AQI of 300. fire.airnow.gov

The measure isn't exactly the same but those numbers have me thinking about what the guy responsible for mitigating the biggest source of PM10 pollution in the US for decades told me a few years ago. authory.com/DaveLevitan/...

A little bit of a stretch. It's bad in some places, horribly bad, but it's not the whole country. Zoom in and there's a lot of land unaffected My neighborhood North of San Diego says good quality and no smoke plume (I know, lucky me) but if you zoom out it's covered by a big disc that says moderate
