UK income tax personal allowance frozen at £12,570 since 2021. If increased in line with inflation, it would be £16,048 for 2026/27. As a result, in 2026/27 someone earning £17,000 will pay additional £696 in income tax and £278 in national insurance. All because govts appease the rich.
