Went to Palermo with two kids under five, missed a train to a day out by mere seconds, needed to feed everyone, dashed to the nearest unassuming restaurant near the station, had easily the best pizza in my life which cost the same as a meal deal and which I still think about at least twice a day.

For good and for ill, the meals I think about the most are in London, New York, Paris, but Italy is the master for “I had a meal in a small cafe in a tiny town/in a train carriage/a garage. It was 7/10.”
