I know Tolkien didn't really like allegory and preferred applicability and so with that thought I will say, The Ring is applicable to me as an alcohol addiction. It's what I struggled with for 10 years and finally threw it in the volcano a month ago. It's... It's over... It's gone... I'm FREE!!!
