while I think we have good reasons to think currents LLMs aren’t conscious, we simply *do not* know this more general claim!
'Swas"Human consciousness is not incidentally but constitutively organic" is a great line. And I believe at some point a history will be written of how "machine learning" opposed, became, then opposed again "artificial intelligence".
