It's interesting that CAISO (California grid) puts Biomass as renewable but not large scale hydro, but the UK grid has that reversed. Still it is super interesting to see how well renewables are being used around the world
Or just how freaking weird it can get. Hydro, solar and wind make up over half of SPP west generation right now, but there is about 30% being made up of coal. We've still got a long way to go.

SPP meaning US Colorado, Wyoming, Montana area (Google).
New plug in solar / balcony solar may give many personal control to switch to solar at a lower starting point.
