It is indeed not the greatest. I'm also apparently squarely still in the 'this might make it worse for a bit first' phase of the intervention that might provide some temporary relief which is not making it easier to digest right now.

Also frankly 3. It's really, really hard to keep motivated for anything while I know I'm not on any kind of recovery trajectory, and without a date pencilled in, I just remain in this aimless no-man's land where there isn't a plan to work towards.

This is pretty significant because 1. I can't exactly book anything else into the dead time before it as I'm in pain and reduced capability and I don't know when the date will be (also can't plan with work) and 2. It means it will just be that much longer until I can start doing anything again.

I've followed up with her a few times between then and now, and she has only today offered to book in the next consult at the start of September, but won't have the booking form for the surgery until after that so won't book that in. So with this taking nearly a month I guess not before Oct now 🙃
