I slept until my alarm today, had my porch coffee, went for a 15 min walk after getting parked and still at my desk for 7:00. I know the day can still turn around but I’m grateful for this start.
It’s my moms birthday. I see I have an ‘initial contact letter’ from CRA to celebrate, but cannot log in to their system (it’s down) to see if it’s for me or her. Google tells me it’s first steps of being audited. What’s with this year piling on extra stuff to deal with? Oh well.
I signed up for a ballet class this fall - my first ever dance class. The kiddo has been taking ballet for three (I think) years and is so into getting me up to speed before I start. She's determined to teach me everything she knows. It's great.
I have a house guest for the first time in a very long time. I am now outside having my coffee and hope she can find me if she gets up! I am so tired today from being up late chatting, but this is much better than tired from panic attacks.
I’m having my coffee outside on the porch and it’s still dark out. I hear crashing through the leaves and really hope it’s just a small animal or my neighbour walking his dog. Please no big animals…
Last night’s panic attack was a doozy. But I had my giant coffee on the deck with the birds this morning and I’m at my office. Not sure how efficient I will be today but I am here doing my best.
I pondered with what to do on my day off, thinking I needed to make an epic day… nope. But it’s been lovely. I dropped the kid at camp, went for an hour walk, got a drive thru breakfast sandwich and then went to Frenchys. Now some cleaning and wasting time online for the afternoon.
It’s so lonely finishing up all my mom’s estate stuff. My friends don’t get it, no fault of their own. They haven’t been through it. But I closed mom’s estate bank account yesterday and the cheques are in the mail to beneficiaries. I’m almost entirely done. The relief I feel… and sadness.
I am finally to the stage of getting cheques issued for the beneficiaries from mom’s estate, and dropped the kid at camp and headed to the bank and realized I didn’t bring my spreadsheets with amounts. I can’t wait to be done with the estate and am also just afraid to be done as that’s it…
I’m in line for my kids’s play. There are two carloads of people that parked before me. They’re still in their cars. I’m out by the door. I think that means I still am first? They haven’t gotten out to join me yet. Had they done so when I got in line, I’d have let them go ahead of me.
I'm going to a dinner with some cousins tomorrow. I have to bring an "other" salad. One is bringing a protein, one a green salad, and one cheese and crackers. We need to be gluten free, no fish or nuts. I don't do well with dairy or quinoa. I have a big book of salads, but cannot choose! Ideas?
I have an out of town friend coming to stay in a few weeks. That gave me the motivation I needed to move some of moms stuff since our spare room is my office and also where I dumped all of moms stuff that I didn’t know what to do with. Now it’s in bins in the storage room.
Does anyone in the North end know if they’re charging for on street parking now in the Oxford/Dublin area? The HRM site shows it as Zone G, but there are no signs on the street indicating that it’s paid parking. I parked today and am assuming I’m good. Will find out at the end of the workday.
Trying to finish off the estate stuff and have the letter ready for review. Hoping to chat to the lawyer this week for a check in to make sure I’m not missing a step. Seems I may need to request a clearance certificate but can’t get into my CRA account since I had to change my cell number.
I could still hear music at 11:30, but I slept over in my kiddos room with her two white noise machines and drowned out the rest with my headphones and my own sleep music. But the fire next door is still smoking quite a bit.
