My first husband sent me to the doctor bc I too was “crazy”. The doctor was very kind. He told me I needed a lawyer and then wrote on his Rx pad and gave it to me. It said I was of sound mind. This was the early 2000s and I still carry that note with me. I was abused plain and simple.
