Drama with the family upstairs triggering really bad memories and habits so soothing chocolate drink to try and calm down

Me: *has been forgetting things and losing things for as long as she’s been alive, consistently, without fail, over and over.* Me being given a very important time and date: I got this, I definitely will remember to put this in my calendar later and not lose it… 😓 I hate my stupid brain

I think one of the biggest hurdles I’m always struggling to overcome with my mental health is the idea that just managing to do the bare minimum is actually an accomplishment. It was always beaten into me that the bare minimum wasn’t just expected it was actually unacceptable. I had to be better.
