yesterday, as a doomscrolling antidote, i started rereading this for about the 10th time in 25 years. incredible how it only gets richer & lovelier each time. amused to note--ordinarily, i'd say i'm drawn neither to omniscient narrators nor many POVs. yet this, my favorite book of all time, has both
