Yet another Washingtonian pushing the ubiquitous Nats/DC sports, Penn State, transit, bicycling, #dckayaking, broomball, skiing, gin & tonic agenda. Raising a family in Alexandria. https://www.yurasko.net/wfy/ | https://www.dckayaking.com/

Nah, he just a MacGuffin

Joebots were a preview of the coming political movement, I just didn't see it at the time.

Paywalled but eager to read I hope it mentions Cal Griffith was aggressively looking to move out by then. The Senators integrated late. The Nats were not the team I expected to debut Chocolate City uniforms

Being around different types of people than your home town does more than any "indoctrination" from the academy.

I had a conversation with my wife recently where I pondered that living in a place like the DC area means a higher % of interesting people. I haven't lived any where else other than college, so I cannot say. She grew up in a small Central PA town 30ish miles from Penn State & thinks they were too

So after the Nats back into the 3rd Wild Card, a late inning bloop to win the game in Philly is in play?

The journalism jobs in rural diner areas were eliminated

...without running from the Pentagon Platform to the bus bay. It really depends on the L'enfant transfer to Yellow. Sometimes, the trains are spaced out too much and it doesn't work and I wind up on the 5:40. I will note that the 5:40 driver (prior to summer at least) is GREAT.

There is apparently some internal reluctance to announce extended service because it's not happening everywhere. That's not great. PM service is still only every 20 minutes from Pentagon. I'd say 60% - 75% of the time, I can get to Pentagon from Eastern Market in 20 minutes and catch the 5:20...
