The framing of these Democratic primaries by many news orgs is "how did the party let these radicals take over?" instead of "what is going on in the country and the world that leads so many people to vote this way?"
📌Susan Collins is voting "no" on the repulsive Blanche because she has been given political cover by Thune. Her vote doesn't matter. This isn't a heroic decision, it is pure politics, and whether anybody wants to admit it or not it's how she has survived like a parasite in that chamber for 30 years.
Oh, is that the big decision facing our country right now? Not gas prices or grocery prices or the war he started or the people being snatched up off the street by masked jackboots and flown off to parts unknown. The pavers. We need to be laser focused on the pavers. Big decision. Huge.
Aaron RuparTrump: "Now we have a big decision to make. Do we take the pavers that are red -- the red, brick pavers -- and do we change them into a granite?"
Laser focused on affordability
Aaron RuparTrump: “The Winning Shot in the Bedminster Club Championship! Thank you very much to all of those who participated. I won with a 70, & am so honored in that, unlike the rest of the field, I’m given very little time to practice, bc I’m focused on many other things. It’s called TALENT, and I have it”
"Nothing Moves the Needle." For me, this is one of the most successful attempts to explain what's happened to the fourth estate as Trump and his movement try to wreck it. The essay is long, but worth it for the way writer Craig Unger @craigunger.bsky.social redescribes the crisis in journalism.
Craig Unger@noupside.bsky.social @jayrosen.bsky.social @froomkin.bsky.social The ground journalism was built to stand on stopped being solid under everyone at the same time. Find out why investigative reporting can't touch Trump the way Watergate touched Nixon! craigunger.substack.com/p/nothing-mo...

Chris GeidnerNEW: Jeanine Pirro's motion to dismiss the Reflecting Pool case is going to have ripple effects. The decision to end the case against former Olympian David Hearn is already making a big splash — and this is likely just the beginning, not the end, of the matter. Tonight, at Law Dork:
Are we reading a critique or a critique within a critique…
SUSAN ORLEAN HAS JOINED THE ENEMY IN THE ODYSSEY WARS
Jeanine Pirro should be disbarred. It is absolutely indefensible and gross misconduct to rush through a criminal indictment for political reasons before an investigation has been completed, which resulted in false evidence being presented to a grand jury.
Rand Paul threatens Fauci with “contempt of Congress.” I’m reminded of a story told variously of Lord Diplock and the first Earl of Birkenhead. A judge said, “You are displaying contempt of this court!” The advocate supposedly responded, “I crave pardon, my Lord, I am striving to conceal it.“
Watch it till the end. This is moral clarity -- TMZ understands the moment, and what that Rand Paul kangaroo court was, better than any coverage I've seen so far. www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zaO...

Jon PassantinoBari Weiss & Nick Bilton are busy trying to recruit talent for their revamped "60 Minutes," conducting dozens of screen tests. And CBS News leaders "have also expressed a desire to air hidden camera-style investigative pieces" on the show. The scoop in @status.news www.status.news/p/60-minutes...
"[Douthat] certainly brings a new perspective to CBS News. In the same way a full-time accordion player would bring a new perspective to a popular K-Pop boy band." 🪗 @allyourscreens.bsky.social toomuchtv.beehiiv.com/p/exclusive-...

Everyone in this administration is loathsome and indecent
ShipwreckFFS 🤦♂️ The Pentagon removed the names of 4 servicemembers who died in Jordan from their official list of casualties. They explain that this is because "their deaths occurred after President Trump declared a cease-fire in the war in April." www.nytimes.com/2026/07/23/u...
