Israel spent a decade sucking up to Trump & alienating Democrats (longer, really). Add on Dem voters' response to the Gaza war, and Israel holds exactly zero sway in D circles. Meanwhile AIPAC is out here pretending like it's still 1992. They're delusional to think they can influence D primaries.

The thing a lot of don't get about American politics is that money is necessary but not sufficient. The money has to be spent wisely, and (as AIPAC is consistently failing to learn) by people with the right message for the target audience.

I feel like I should be able to put that on my CV.

People are going to want to blame Schumer/Jeffries/the Democratic establishment, but not this one's not on them. US partisan institutions are very weak; leadership has virtually no levers to control a group like Third Way (claims alignment with a party, but outside the formal structures).

In a first past the post system, co-partisans don't try to stop each other from winning election. Taking out an ad buy against a member of your own party is super-verboten. I can't remember any time this has happened before (please jump in if I'm wrong on that).

There's a reason we use the word "innocent" to describe small children. It takes a special level of evil to be gratuitously cruel to a toddler.

These guys all think they're so smart and so clever, and they're all fucking the same.

LOL just the other week my daughter and I learned that my wife somehow never heard about this, so we got to retell the story and show her all the Michael B. Phelps memes. It was glorious.
