i wasnt crazy about the movie but i am crazy about Jack's work and this was super interesting and gave me a lot to think about. also i dont normally stump for the needs of the cis but if you can afford to send Jack a tip he deffo deserves and needs it. also give him a sub! and watch his stuff! 💜

extremely good review. Really nails what I find compelling about the movie, which is characters attempting to grapple with something utterly indifferent and hostile towards human understanding

I've been thinking about the backrooms on and off since I saw it, and this essay really digs into the way some stories flatten out if you just assume everything characters say is true. Scared people lying to themselves is really interesting!

Definitely my favorite analysis I've seen so far, a video that goes to show how many interesting threads there are to pull at it in the movie

I think this part of the @lackingsaint.bsky.social backrooms review is very important because a) this was my interpretation so i’m biased in his favor b) it’s a very important message on the harm that comes from letting yourself get endlessly bogged down in analyzing the meaning of what you endure
