They get 5 days to get them down but I have found in past years that does not happen… Sadly I have learned about it how hard (read: functionally impossible) it is to impose any kind of real penalty/consequence for median sign violations. I explored that a lot before I reached “just ban them all”

I think this is my feeling as well - it may have been fewer signs but it still felt just as pervasive

Pike library as currently operating will not change!! Brand new facility for Pike library now pushed out beyond the 10 year CIP horizon - not to say it’s gone forever or couldn’t come back in better fiscal times Cherrydale was ~500k in operating budget vs new library is 10s of millions in capital

Highly encourage advocacy to the General Assembly electeds if you want to see more - we have made automated enforcement part of our transportation safety strategy to the extent we're able, but each year they consider reducing our already limited authority even further...we would do more if we could!

hi! we are severely limited by the general assembly on redlight cameras, "within planning District 8, each such locality may install and operate traffic light signal violation monitoring systems at no more than 10 intersections" (law.lis.virginia.gov/vacode/title...)
