The epicenter of the Colombian earthquake was in Chocó the most under resourced department of Colombia, where the population is almost entirely afrocolombiano & indigenous. very little coverage but the few videos show absolute devastation. 😢 www.instagram.com/reel/Db3qHFA...
I keep getting sponsored ads for a certain digital calendar/home management piece of equipment. If it works for you, great. But I, like many, have neither the budget nor wall/counter space for more stuff. Simple, low cost or free strategies work better than another thing that promises to fix all.
Kursten Phelps, Executive Function CoachA hill I’ll die on: Entire industries try to tell you that you need more discipline & sell you hacks. But I bet what you actually need are fewer decisions. Every recurring decision is a chance to build a way that cuts down on the number of decisions you have to make in a day.
Mid-week check in, friends: How’s your progress on priority tasks going? If the answer is “not great,” don’t ask yourself “How do I finish this?” Ask “What’s the smallest action that proves I’ve started?” Decision fatigue sucks. Momentum can start really small and is usually how you get to done.
An aspect of executive functioning is inhibitory control - that “pause” before making a rash decision. Like quitting your current job and applying for this. Not that anyone is thinking of doing that. Certainly not me. Why do you ask.
